Service Description: This layer contains the fire heat detections from the most recent satellite overpass with any fire detections present (within the last 12 hours). Only fire detections with a confidence of nominal or high inside a bounding box with boundaries (-176.0, 50.0, -125.0, 72.0) are included. These data (NOAA Active Fire) represent fire detections from the satellite-based Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS, I-Band) with a spatial resolution of approximately 375 m.
